What is Compass Creative Dramatics Summer Camp? 
Our summer camp is a five-day theatre program that involves daily rehearsals and workshops taught by Chicago theatre professionals.  The week culminates in a public performance of our own musical adaptations of The Jumping Jacks and the Beanstalk (Horace Mann Middle School, July 25 - 29) or Peas & Harmony: The Princess & The Pea, Remixed (St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School, August 1 - 5).

Who can participate in Camp?
Students entering 1st grade in the fall of 2016 through spring 2016 grads can register. No theatre experience necessary!

When is Camp?
We have two weeks available in Sheboygan this year!

July 25 - 29,  2016 (Horace Mann Middle School)
and
August 1 - 5, 2016 (St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School)

Camp is a 5-day summer session that meets 
M-Th:  9:30 am - 3 pm*
F: 9:30 am - 7:30 pm
A public performance will be on Friday, the last day of camp, at 6pm.
*Before care beginning at 8:30am and after care until 4pm are available for an additional fee.

What plays will you be doing?
At Horace Mann Middle School July 25 - 29, campers will rehearse and perform our original adaptation of The Jumping Jacks and the Beanstalk.

At St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School August 1 - 5, campers will rehearse and perform our quirky modern adaptation of Peas & Harmony: The Princess & the Pea, Remixed.

Why should I enroll my child?

CCD's Summer Camp is an affordable full-day activity!
With a daily schedule from 9:30-3pm, our summer camp averages less $3.90 an hour!

Your students will learn and grow throughout the week.
Our camp encourages kids to have fun and explore the dramatic arts by participating in a full production of Alice in Wonderland.
In addition, the daily interactive theatre workshops & activities will guide your student through the discovery of new topics and themes.

Summer Camp is a great opportunity to make new friends.
Students are grouped by age for the afternoon activities, allowing age-appropriate lesson planning.  They are integrated during rehearsals, so your student will learn how to collaborate with students from first grade up through recent high school grads!

CCD encourages kids to expand their horizons by stretching their creativity muscles.
Our programming encourages imagination and critical thinking, providing a safe environment in which kids can take healthy risks and explore their strengths and weaknesses. Throughout the week, our students learn about themselves and discover how to turn their limitations into assets.

Summer Camp is the perfect place to be an individual, valued part of a collaborative team.
At camp, kids will be part of a collaborative artistic process that encourages teamwork - while still inspiring students to take ownership of and pride in their unique ideas and capabilities.
