Script Development Residencies
A bit about the program
Script Development Camps are one of the final steps in our script adaptation process.
While our new scripts are still under construction, students try out our new scenes, songs, and dances. Students also create choreography, blocking, writing, design ideas, and develop their own mini-adaptations of classic children’s stories.
Script Development Camp offers a higher level of creative outlet and challenge than our Performance Residencies. Sometimes, students’ ideas are incorporated into final production plans when the scripts become fully-realized performance residency programs!
The program culminates in a student-driven showcase of their creations throughout the week. The script development residency offers a different type of opportunity to both sponsoring organizations who may be seeking to offer multiple week-long opportunities in a year, or may already have a performance opportunity in place but want to expand their offerings.
Age Range: 1st through 12th grade. Sponsoring organization may choose to limit the age range further, i.e middle schoolers only, or 3rd - 5th graders only.
Program Size: 8 - 75 students.
Residency Schedule: 3 hours of rehearsal + one 15-minute break per day. The sponsoring organization may opt to schedule the program during the day, after school hours, or a hybrid.
Showcase Schedule: Sponsoring organization may opt to schedule one or two Performance Showcases of the students work from the week to take place after the 5th rehearsal. These may take place on Friday or Saturday of the residency week.
