Cinderella (Saves the World!)
When the local superhero league announces it's looking for new members, Cinderella is eager to try out so she can make the world a better place. The only problem is (unlike her lazy stepsisters) she wasn’t born with a superpower! But a group of friendly scientists have a few tricks up their sleeves, and with their assistance (plus the help of some curious kittens and a very mysterious group of elderly folk) Cinderella just might find a way to save the world! Please note, camp sessions may be combined due to enrollment numbers.
Should your session be eliminated and combined with the other session, Compass will reach out via email. |

We Heard Your Feedback
…and we’re taking action!
Due to the feedback we received regarding our refund policy when in-person programming in 2020 had to be postponed and virtual camps were offered in lieu of in-person programming for 2020 and 2021 due to the risks of COVID-19, we have restructured our refund policy*. Register with confidence! For more information, go to our Camp FAQ Page. |
Camp Basics
What is Compass Creative Dramatics Summer Camp all about?
CCD's summer camp is a five-day experience for students to come together and have a blast learning about the art of theatre. Each day, we'll prepare for the end-of-week performance through structured rehearsals and exciting theatre-related workshops such as improv, stage combat, and audition skills (topic vary year-by-year).
The program is designed to offer a top-notch arts enrichment program that hones important social skills like empathy, trust, responsibility and teamwork and allow our young actors to stretch their creativity and bravery muscles.
What makes Compass Creative Dramatics summer camp special?
Not only is our camp taught by professional actors from the Chicago area, but the kids get an opportunity to perform onstage with them as well. Two of our actor/educators perform right next to the student actors, leading by example and sharing the experience of live performance. They're right there on stage offering support and helping your child shine. We provide all of the elements of the production—professionally designed and produced music, costumes, props, sets, and make-up—all to make this an unforgettable experience for your student!
What is a day at theatre camp like?
Each day is a little different, but for the most part, mornings are spent learning the scenes, songs, and dances that are part of the play. During this time, students work together with children of a variety of ages to collaborate on the production. Most afternoons, students participate in age-specific workshops in theatre topics like improv, stage combat, storytelling, dance, musical theatre, etc. The specific topics vary each year. On Friday, the students perform for their friends, family, and the public, complete with sets, costumes, props, and music, which have all been professionally designed and built for the students.
What is the schedule for a week of camp?
Camp meets daily from 9am - 3pm Monday - Thursday and from 9am - 7:30pm on Friday (public performance at 6pm).
Who can participate?
Students grades 1-8. Students must have completed kindergarten in order to register and are eligible through the summer following their 8th grade graduation.
Do you provide scholarships?

The educators were fantastic - they more than exceeded my expectations. We absolutely loved them all!
They were such positive influences that one of my sons came home saying he wanted to do what they do when he grows up.
Thank you for being so awesome!
