Wizard of Oz: Acting & Adaptions through Scenes & Songs
Come join the fun as we explore scenes and songs from our adaptation of Wizard of Oz!
These classes are an opportunity for students to come together and have a blast learning about the art of theatre. Over the course of 6 weeks, we'll explore adaptations and storytelling and rehearse small portions of our script, Wizard of Oz. Students try out our scenes, songs, and dances. Students also create choreography, blocking, writing, and design ideas and develop their own mini-adaptations of classic children’s stories. This allows the students to be part of a collaborative process of helping us find out what works well and what needs to be improved. The program culminates with a final showcase for the students to display and share a few scenes from our adaptation of Wizard of Oz alongside some of the original work of our students with family and friends. This showcase will be after the final class on 5/24 at 4:00 PM.

Dates: April 19 - May 24th (Tuesdays)
Time: 3:15 - 4:15pm with a showcase at 4:00pm on the final day (May 24th)
Ages: Session 1 - First and Second Graders; Session 2 - Third and Fourth Graders
Cost: FREE!
Students must be enrolled as a student at St.James Lutheran School.
