Accelerating Imaginations: An Intro to Acting |
Ditch the Script: Improv Acting |
Storytelling Adventures: Adapting Folktales for the Stage |
We take a high-speed trip through the world of acting. This workshop includes theatre games to get kids' bodies revved up and creative wheels turning!
Our theatre games and activities help students warm up four tools that actors use on stage in order to be safe and perform their best: voice, body, concentration, and creativity. |
Put on your listening caps and flex those creativity muscles! We're digging into the art of improvisation through fast-paced games that explore how to play bravely by working together with your fellow improvisers.
Students participate in games and activities in order to build a sense of teamwork and collaboration related to improv, understand the importance of active listening, and to use their creativity muscles to build a scene out of thin air. |
Explore the art of adapting folktales into your own mini-plays through action-packed games and creative play during, concluding with the students' own original adaptations of selected children’s literature.
Through games and activities, actors explore storytelling essentials including creating characters, story structure, blocking, voice, and physicality, and use it to learn to tell engaging stories onstage. |
